- Step 1: Prepare your baking dish by greasing it with butter or cooking spray.
- Step 2: Cut the brioche bread into cubes and spread evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- Step 3: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt until smooth.
- Step 4: Pour the custard mixture over the bread, pressing down to ensure it’s well-soaked. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
- Step 5: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) the next morning.
- Step 6: Bring the casserole to room temperature for about 15 minutes before baking.
- Step 7: Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden and set. Check for doneness with a knife.
- Step 8: Allow to cool for 10 minutes, then drizzle with maple syrup, dust with powdered sugar, and serve with fresh fruit.
Notes
For an extra crunchy topping, sprinkle sugar or chopped nuts on top during the last 10 minutes of baking.
