- Step 1: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the pound of ground beef. Use a spatula to break the meat apart as it cooks. Stir occasionally and cook until the beef is fully browned, about 7-10 minutes. Once cooked, drain any excess fat from the skillet.
- Step 2: After draining the beef, return it to the skillet. Sprinkle the taco seasoning over the meat and pour in 1 cup of water. Stir well and allow it to simmer for about 5 minutes, or until the mixture thickens.
- Step 3: In a large mixing bowl, add the chopped iceberg lettuce. Next, add the halved cherry tomatoes, shredded cheddar cheese, sliced black olives, and corn. Toss these ingredients together to mix them evenly.
- Step 4: Add the beef mixture to the salad bowl with the other ingredients and toss everything together gently but thoroughly.
- Step 5: Gently fold in the crushed Doritos, being careful not to break them down too much.
- Step 6: Drizzle the ranch dressing over the salad and toss to coat all ingredients evenly.
- Step 7: If desired, add optional garnishes like diced avocado, jalapeños, or green onions. Serve immediately in a decorative bowl.
