- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Step 2: Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
- Step 3: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
- Step 4: Gently fold the bread cubes into the custard mixture.
- Step 5: Pour the bread mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- Step 6: Drizzle the maple syrup generously over the top of the casserole.
- Step 7: Cover the dish with aluminum foil and place it in the preheated oven. Bake for 30 minutes.
- Step 8: After 30 minutes, carefully remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Step 9: Once baked, let it cool for a few minutes. Dust with powdered sugar and top with fresh berries before serving.
Notes
This casserole can be prepared the night before and refrigerated. Allow extra baking time if starting from the fridge.
