- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Step 2: Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
- Step 3: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, maple syrup, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
- Step 4: Cube the challah or brioche bread and add it to the egg mixture, gently folding to combine.
- Step 5: Pour the bread and egg mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly.
- Step 6: Sprinkle the chopped pecans evenly over the top.
- Step 7: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Step 8: After 30 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the top is golden brown.
- Step 9: Let cool for a few minutes before slicing into squares and serving with additional maple syrup if desired.
